FIRST TRIP TO SCOSIAL SERVICES!

WELL JUST LIKE I THOUGHT! I MISSED AN APPOINTMENT ON AUG,5 WITCH BY THE WAY IS MY B-DAY, SO THEY TELL ME THEY ARENT GOING TO HELP ME WITH MY HOSPITAL BILLS, JUST GRATE ,HUH! SO I HAVE ANOTHER APOINENT TO SEE IF THEY ARE GOING TO LET ME HAVE SOME MEDICAL.THIS ONE WILL BE ON FEB,26 2010. I THINK THAT IF YOU CANT WALK THERE OR GET A RIDE THEY SHOULD HAVE TO WORK WITH YOU! DONT YOU ALL THINK THATS FARE? WELL I DO BUT THEY THINK THAT ITS THERE WAY OR NO WAY AT ALL! AND THAT IS THE WAY IT WORKS HERE IN ( NEVADA,RENO)  LIKE I SAID BEFOR IF I WAS A DOG OR A MINORITY,OR A WOMAN WITH KIDS I WOULD ALREADY HAVE HELP! BUT SINCE IM NOT THEY GET TO GIVE ME THE RUNAROUND! (WELL THAT IS HOW IT WORKS IN THE UNITED STATES OF NEVADA!) LIKE I SAID I WILL KEEP YOU ALL INFORMED ON HOW IT ALL WORKS HERE IN (NEVADA) SO TILL NEXT TIME THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME TO READ THIS POST. hi roseb441702, well i live in reno n.v. and thfare is on one side of town and social services is on the outher! you cant do anything by mail here! its a right to work state! and they dont care about the people here in this state! you have to show up in person no matter what ! with having two hernias its hard to get around they make it hard to walk! pluss i dont have a car! and no job! i live with people but they are very selfish with their time and cars!so its up to me and thats vary diffaculte when you have no job! its hard to have to beg all the time for a ride and then when you do get them to say ok pops! they forget about you! because thats how selfish my own kids are to me! plus on office is on one side of d the outher is on the outher side ! so thats a long day and it costs $2.00 a ride on the bus here! this whole state sucks when it comes to helping its people in need! they just dont care about their citizens here well it makes me to upset when i talk about how much your state dosent are even when its not your fault that you are hurt and cant work! well write you soon. anthony.

I don't know about where you live but at least here in my own area (Phila) the county welfare and social services offices are located near public transportation.  It's really ironic though because the last time I was there I noticed that there were more people who drove there in their own cars than those who took the bus there.

 So are the offices that you are talking about - are they near public transportation?

I know of one client that signed up for food stamps and since getting to the office proved to be difficult the process was done over the phone and the forms were filled out and mailed and faxed back to the offices and they received their food stamp card in the mail.
